Does a claim reach out halfway into the river ? Wouldn't it be reasonable to think, that since the flakes and pickers end up at the side of a river, then the big ones (+10 Ounzes) might be hiding out at the bottom, free to take ? So have you ever wondered, if you should wet-/dry-suit up in divers gear and pick them up by hand ? All while your wingmen on dry land have you secured through ropes and other security measures.

The reason I love these videos is thinking about those gold nuggets. Imagine the creation in some supernova explosion, and the billions of years circulating in the earths crust before solidifying someplace and waiting for Dan to find it. Happy Father's Day Dan and Pete! I see you said that the water is still very low for this time of year and I'm guessing it was about a month ago this video was shot. When does the spring run off usually start ? and when does it tend to start coming back down ?. The reason I ask is because I just recently staked a placer claim on the Fraser River and I live 5 or 6 hours south of my claim in the sunny Okanagan. Making it is tough to just rip over and take a look. And of course with private land owners and having to give notice 8 days prior makes it even more difficult.
